*FINISHES AVAILABLE FOR CEDAR WOOD TONES:
Each wood tone can be produced in 4 different finishes:
-
Waxed: Gives a country finish. It is called waxed because the final step of the process consists in applying wax to the wood, previously stained and sealed. The natural grain of the wood is noticeable to touch and sight. It is recommended to apply wax to the product at least each 6 months. Otherwise it will age naturally, in case a more aged style is deserved.
-
Open grain (wengue): The wood grain is opened with the help of a metal brush, then stained, sealed and lacquered with a semi-brilliant lacquer. Due to this last process it is a little shinny (semi-gloss).
-
Semi-gloss: The wood grain is completely covered with sealers and lacquers, so the finish is completely soft to touch. You will still see the wood grain patterns below the semi-gloss lacquer. This is the same finish applied on the majority of fine furniture.
-
Gloss: It is exactly the same process as before, with the only difference that the applied lacquer is shinny. This characteristic gives the product a more detailed perspective of the wood grain below the lacquer.
